Have you been unsuccessful at changing your problematic behaviors or emotional reactions despite having had a lot of therapy? This is quite common because even though you may know what you need to do, you probably have been thrown off track repeatedly by the frustration and anxiety associated with changing.
Have you been searching for a therapy to bring you the relief that has eluded you? If so, I have some important things to share with you.
I have been practicing Clinical Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy since 1987. I am a licensed board-certified clinical psychologist. I originally learned how to use hypnosis to relieve my own back pain in 1984. I have used self-hypnosis ever since. I have trained with the masters in the field of medical hypnosis, and I have written several textbooks and self-help books on hypnotherapy for pain management, anxiety, depression, and trauma resolution.
Definitions. Clinical Hypnosis is the use of hypnosis in a clinical or healthcare setting to enhance the effectiveness of the treatment. Clinical hypnosis is used by physicians, dentists, nurses, physical therapists, and mental health therapists who are trained to use this tool in their profession. When Clinical Hypnosis is used in Psychotherapy, it is called Hypnotherapy.
How does Clinical Hypnosis enhance therapy? Clinical Hypnosis makes changing easier because it addresses your Subconscious Mind (aka your Unconscious Mind) where your resistance to change resides. This part of your mind has only one concern – that is your survival! The subconscious mind only feels; it does not think. Therefore, change can only take place when your subconscious mind feels the need to change.
You need the cooperation of your subconscious mind to change deeply engrained behaviors and habits. When we get this cooperation, it makes therapy both briefer (i.e., more rapid results) and deeper. In Hypnotherapy, we open the “doorway” to your subconscious mind so that bad ideas that have been operating unconsciously can be effortlessly replaced with good ideas.
Communication with your Subconscious. Clinical hypnosis communicates to your subconscious in a form it can understand and accept that you need to change. Hypnosis techniques are employed to confirm that your subconscious feels the necessity, and that it is willing to permit you to make your desired changes. This makes changing much easier.
The Answers to your problems. All hypnotherapy begins with the assumption that the answers to your problems and the keys to resolving your bothersome persistent symptoms lie within you. The objective of hypnotherapy is to discover a better solution within you, and to interpret this information in a way that makes sense to both parts of your mind – your conscious and unconscious (or subconscious). This information is then used to resolve the problem and implement the solution.
What is necessary for clinical hypnosis to be used effectively in therapy? Your therapist must know when and how to use this “power tool”.
The “when” is the time you recognize that you need more intensive therapy than you’ve been getting and . . .
- You know what you need to do but…
- You cannot seem to do it so…
- You become discouraged because…
- The work feels too hard and…
- You wish there was an easier way…
- There is an easier way. It is Hypnotherapy.
The “how” is the hypnotic application of the right clinical treatment strategy in a form that communicates to your unconscious mind the true necessity of the changes you want to make. The effectiveness of the hypnotically delivered treatment depends on several factors:
- Your motivation to make the desired changes.
- A good therapeutic relationship with your therapist.
- Your therapist’s skills in using clinical hypnosis and delivering the appropriate treatment for your problem.
Essentially, there are two approaches to Hypnotherapy:
- Direct Suggestion In Hypnosis (DSIH) is often effective for alleviating simple habits. With this approach…
- First, I assist you in entering a focused state of relaxed absorption in which the critical factor of your mind is suspended temporarily and in which selective thinking is established.
- Then I give you individualized suggestions in a form that your subconscious (or unconscious mind) can understand and accept.
- The effectiveness of this DSIH approach depends on the nature and complexity of your problem. However, it also depends on the effectiveness of the treatment strategy that I formulate after learning about you. It also depends on how “on-target” my hypnotic suggestions are. Unfortunately, many problems are not simple, and to resolve them, it is necessary to find the root cause.
- Hypnoanalysis is the technique that I use to find and address the root cause. I incorporate Regression to Cause along with Reframing. This type of intensive work often requires multiple extended sessions which are best scheduled over several consecutive days.

Why Choose Concierge Hypnotherapy with me? In my many years of using clinical hypnosis as a therapist (i.e., practicing Hypnotherapy), I have learned that to rapidly resolve problems that have stubbornly persisted despite multiple therapies and treatments, the traditional fifty-to-sixty-minute session is frequently not long enough. This is why I am currently offering my Concierge Hypnotherapy Service.
- Extended Hypnotherapy Sessions conducted over several consecutive days provide the necessary time in each session to uncover essential information from your unconscious mind, make sense of this information, and formulate a practical action plan.
- Back-to-back days of extended hypnotherapy sessions provide the necessary follow-up time to clear your problem and address pertinent associated issues that need attention.
My Concierge Hypnotherapy Service is a one-on-one intensive program wherein we schedule appointments for extended hypnotherapy sessions to help you rapidly let go of old pain and facilitate the behavioral changes you desire. The work incorporates the powerful hypnotherapy modalities of Hypnoanalysis, Regression to Cause, and Ego State Therapy. Once we co-discover the causative factors, we work together to rapidly resolve them so that your troublesome symptoms can be released.
My Concierge Hypnotherapy Service is for people who are ready to achieve rapid results. These extended sessions scheduled over several consecutive days facilitate the accelerated resolution of the unconscious causes of your symptoms. This is much more effective than traditional weekly sessions because we can rapidly get to the root of your problems where the solutions can be found and implemented.
Scheduling Extended Hypnotherapy Sessions. I usually schedule these sessions on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday because many of my patients either travel to see me from out of town and/or do not want to miss work. Extended Concierge Hypnotherapy Sessions typically last several hours (three to four hours) in a single day, over two to three consecutive days. The goal is to address and resolve specific issues or challenges more rapidly and thoroughly than traditional hypnotherapy, which typically consists of shorter sessions (50 to 60 minutes) spread over weeks or months.
Online Hypnotherapy. Please note that I also conduct my Concierge Hypnotherapy Service online when it is the best alternative for someone who cannot make the trip to see me in my office. Online hypnotherapy sessions do work. However, I prefer to do this work in person.
What takes place during your Concierge Extended Hypnotherapy sessions? During our sessions, I work closely with you to…
- Conduct a thorough assessment to understand you and your problems.
- Formulate clear and attainable therapy goals.
- Present information you need to have to make change easier.
- Thoroughly dispel any of your misconceptions or fears about hypnotherapy and the work.
- Induce an adequate hypnotic state (i.e., a focused state of relaxed absorption and selective attention). This opens the doorway to your subconscious mind.
- We deepen your hypnotic state to an appropriate level over the course of each session.
- As you go deeper into hypnosis, you get more in touch with your deepest and innermost feelings and the understandings you need to have to make change possible, and motivational momentum is built up.
- This concentrated hypnotherapy approach expedites the resolution of persistent problems such as phobias, anxiety, trauma, depression, pain, smoking cessation, weight loss, and other issues.
- The extended duration of these sessions over several consecutive days allows a deeper exploration of the underlying causes of your issues. It provides the necessary time to take advantage of the momentum developed to use what you learn to shift your perspective and commit to positive change.
- This intensive work facilitates replacing bad unconscious ideas with better ones, and reprogramming your thoughts, attitudes, beliefs, feelings, and behaviors.
NOTE. It is important to note that these extended back-to-back intensive hypnotherapy sessions are not suitable for everyone. The effectiveness of this approach varies based on individual needs, preferences, and the therapist-client relationship. Additionally, it requires a significant time and monetary commitment, and it can be emotionally too intense for some individuals.
Concierge Hypnotherapy is NOT covered by insurance. It is a private pay arrangement that is paid for at the time of service. In our initial consultation, we can determine whether this approach will be appropriate and beneficial for you.
